Add a vDisk clone

Adding a vDisk clone from a backup is a way to attach the vDisk to an application instance from a backup of the application instance. Infrastructure admin users and VDC manager users can add a vDisk clone to an application instance.

Complete the following steps to add a vDisk clone to an instance from its own backup:

  1. Log in to the ThinkAgile CP Cloud Controller as an infrastructure admin or VDC manager user.
  2. Expand the VDC that contains the application instance and click VDC Instances.

  3. Click the application instance to display the details for that instance. Then click the Profile tab.

  4. On the Profile tab for an application instance, scroll down to the Storage section and click Add vDisk > Add vDisk clone.

  5. In the Add vDisk Clone dialog, chose from which backup to get the vDisk and a vDisk name.
    1. Click Select vDisk.

    2. Click the backup from which to clone a vDisk.

    3. Click the vDisk to be cloned and then click Select.

  6. Enter a name for the new vDisk clone and click Add vDisk clone.

The vDisk clone is shown in the list of vDisks and it is added to the boot order.

Note: You might need to refresh the page to show the vDisk.
